make new friends but keep the old........

hello everyone who reads my site....i have not updated in a really really long time but now it is time for me to write another entry.  a couple of days ago, a girl who i have never met, but knew very little about before showed up on my porch at my house. she was waiting there for a pretty good amount of time. i don't know if she was there overnight or not because i surely was not home, my sister was at the dorms, and my parents and brother were out of town. thankfully she was not hurt in any type of way. well.....when my sister went home, she found this girl sitting on the porch. well my sister immediately called me to let me know and told me to come to the house to pick her up. so rob and i quickly went to my house and picked her up. i felt so bad because she weighed almost nothing! i brought her back to my apartment to fix her up a little bit and now she is perfectly fine. she's only worth $117.......which to me is pretty cheap when i compare her to other girls of her type!!! she's got a pretty good body, though her size fluctuates pretty fast. her name is britney. she has made a new home in my apartment, however she kinda freaked me out last night so instead of allowing her to stay in my room, i made her stay in the living room. she and i bonded a lot over the last 24 hours. we share all the same clothes and tastes. she has also become friends with my friends.....elizabeth and arthe. i'm glad that we can all get along and i know that this friendship will last a lifetime. here are a few pictures of us together..............

annoyance with the asian community

at lunch today, i received a culture lesson from my mom and mr. liu

summarized conversation at lunch with mr. liu:
mr. liu: "so does unc and ncstate have a lot of activities that they do together?"
me: "no...not that i know of" (i know clearly he means "asian mixers" but i decided not to comment on that stuff"

mr. liu: "it is good to surround yourself with asian/chinese friends because of your background. nina, do you surround yourself with asian/chinese friends?"
me: "no....not really" (okay i can count the asian friends i have........like 4 and they aren't all considered "asian"

mr. liu: "you girls will understand one day that it was good you learned chinese"
me: "no....i really do think i will regret learning it.......because i wish i learned another language and not chinese"

one thing i hate hearing when i tell people, mainly asian, that i'm majoring in textiles is that they automatically assume that i want to manufacture textiles in china. they always tell me i need to learn chinese and that i will regret not learning it. okay i don't want to go to china except to travel.......what i want to do in textiles can be done over here in the states. i'm in APPAREL MANAGEMENT.......NOT TEXTILE ENGINEERING, which would be more reasonable for me to learn chinese.

another thing i hate is chinese people (aka family friends) and their obsession with matchmaking. ahhhhhhh do they not understand!!!!!!!!! i am NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT attracted to asian people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my sister and i came to the conclusion: drunk people are very unattractive........but asian drunk people holding red dixie cups are EXTREMELY MORE unattractive!

last week when i was trying to get my internet working again.....i was on the phone for over 30 minutes....i was transferred 3 times......and put on hold at least 8 times. they had me tell (each time i was transferred) why my computer wasn't working.......and each person asked me to unplug my modem and restart my computer. that was extremely boring and definately did not work. during those tranfers and holds......i listened to their crappy music. it wasn't elevator music. it was "relaxing" music....probably so that irritated and angry people like me would calm down for all the ridiculous waiting so that we wouldn't blow up at them when they came back on the phone. this is what i typed over the course of the time:

Celtic music with flutes and piano…….recorder……..piccalo……..on hold at least 8 times………”romantic” shit music………like infront of a fireplace in the 80s at a ski resort……..toasting to champagne and little sandwiches………cozy blanket on the ground……girl with big frizzy curly hair little makeup………guy with swept side parted hair……..laughter and jokes…..oversized knitted sweaters with stupid zigzag designs and taped acid wash jeans……………………..…80s upbeat music…….loving…….skiing downhill looking back and laughing…….playing in the snow……..
